Creative Roots

A season of healing. A brush with the divine. A return to the page.

There was a time I believed I had written my final story.

After self-publishing my first novel in 2006, and facing the familiar ache of agency rejection, I quietly laid my writing dreams to rest. Life, as it often does, intervened—grief took the shape of losing my grandmother, and chronic pain led me to leave my career. I was searching for light in the dark.

It found me in unexpected ways.

I picked up a paintbrush not to create, but to cope. Art became a lifeline. An intuitive, spiritual, wordless language that helped me move through pain and return to presence.

And then… others began to see what I had not: that this healing work held beauty and resonance.

My paintings found homes around the world.

I exhibited, sold my art, and became what I never set out to be—a professional artist.

In that time, I explored sacred themes: the divine feminine, archetypes, soul maps, and elemental cycles. Each piece was a prayer, a meditation, a mirror.

Selected Works: The Canada Legacy Series

Art as a vessel for remembrance, reconciliation, and national soul-searching.

At the heart of my artistic journey stands the Canada Legacy series—a collection born from deep reflection on the past, present, and future of our nation. This body of work emerged as both an offering and a reckoning: a desire to honour the diverse peoples and sacred stories woven through the land we call home.

Each painting reflects a spiritual intention and carries symbolic threads of identity, truth, and transformation.

“This series marked a turning point for me. It was where my voice as an artist fully stepped into purpose. I poured everything I had—ancestral longing, soul history, spiritual vision—into these pieces.”

The Canada Legacy series was created to mark Canada 150—not with celebration alone, but with soul-searching and acknowledgment. It honours our collective past and seeks a more inclusive, just, and compassionate vision of the future. Through sacred symbolism and intuitive storytelling, I sought to paint a deeper legacy—one carried not in history books, but in hearts.

A Few Favourites

Jewels of the Northwest

Glacial light on sacred water. Stories carried by cedar and salmon. A tribute to resilience.

This piece honours the untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest—where culture, spirit, and nature shimmer with ancient wisdom.

Secrets of the Great Bear Sea

The sea holds its own memory. A memory of whale song, kelp forests, and ancestral presence.

Inspired by the coastlines of British Columbia, this work is a whisper of deep ecological knowing and the mysteries that ripple just beneath the surface.

Heart of the Canadian Rockies

Majestic and enduring. A cathedral carved by time and spirit.

This painting reflects my deep awe for the Rockies—mountains that stand as monuments to stillness, strength, and the soul’s vast inner terrain.

Where Polar Bears Reign

The north speaks in silence. A land of sacred extremes—fierce, fragile, divine.

A homage to the Arctic and its guardians. This piece holds both the stark beauty of snowbound horizons and the urgent call of environmental stewardship.

Rendez-vous Romantique

Where history and longing entwine on cobblestone streets.

Set in Old Quebec, this piece is softer, dreamier—a moment suspended in time. It reflects the romantic pulse that runs quietly through even the oldest, most storied cities.

My Artist's Journey

I did not begin painting as a career move. I began because I needed something that asked nothing of me but presence. What came of it surprised me: exhibitions, sales, collectors across the globe. But what mattered most was what it gave back—a sense of wonder, a sacred stillness, and a deeper connection to the unseen.

A Return to Writing

The brush had steadied my hand. The silence had deepened my ear. And the stories, once buried, bloomed again—this time in a persistent calling rooted in something deeper than ambition. I write now from the same place I once painted: a space of reverence, devotion, and transformation.
